Biblical Marriage

Many of you may have already read or heard the newest news of what our government has decided. For those of you who don't... they made same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states this last week. I couldn't help but cry. My heart shuddered. I'm utterly astonished! I'm not the emotional type normally. But to see such a beautiful world that God created, come tumbling down against what God Himself made, has been horrendous!
I honestly didn't think it'd happen... but then again, why should I be surprised?! Abortions been legal for 42 years, this was bound to happen eventually.
I'd encourage you, to read what the Bible says. When God says in Genesis 1:27, and Romans 1:27... "Men with men committing what is shameful..." He meant it. The Bible is my Foundation. I don't believe that Same-sex marriage is right! God will not be mocked! I do realize that some of you, may not agree with me, but this needs to be said...
The Chick-fil-a president said it right, clear and straightforward: "I think we are inviting God's judgement on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage'......I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

My husband said it really well, when he said, "If ‪#‎lovewins‬, as many are proclaiming this weekend, then who's losing? Maybe those see love as something far nobler than doing what you want with whom you want; maybe those who know that love has an Author and who concern themselves with knowing what He has to say about it. God is love; and God will win."
Yes, love wins.  Because God is love, and He is victorious.
"Be not deceived, God is not mocked." (Galatians 6:7)
If God had intended the human race to be fulfilled through both heterosexual and homosexual marriage, He would have designed our bodies to allow reproduction through both means and made both means of sexual intercourse healthy and natural. Homosexual anal intercourse carries a high risk of disease, this is recognized in Scripture where gay men are said to receive in their bodies the due penalty for their error (Romans 1:27).

We need to repent as a nation, and turn to God! "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." ~2nd Chronicles 7:14

  1. Hi Caitlin, I was wondering if you thought of other religions and of people with no religion. Not everybody agrees with you. It's like understanding not everyone cheers for the same team as you (and some people don't even like sports!). If any religion was the 'right one' there'd be proof of that. But since non have been proven to be correct, we have nothing left but to live ours privately and let other people be happy with theirs.
Many countries have legalized same sex marriage. I encourage you to investigate what happened to them. Hint: nothing at all.
With sincere love for my fellow human being (believe it or not)

    1. Hi Caroline!
Thanks for your comment! You'd be correct, I don't believe there's any other religions aside from God. I do know that not many people will not agree with me on many issues. Aside from the Bible being proof enough, I can't give you much else.
what you’re saying is basically that you don’t believe in any religion? You don’t believe in Moral absolutes? Or standards? My religion, is faith in God, the Ultimate Creator of everyone and everything. I can’t prove that God exists, I believe in God by faith, not by works. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
You said that many countries have legalized same sex marriage… you’d be correct. I don’t need to investigate what happened, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s wrong. I realize that you disagree with me on this issue, but that doesn’t change my mind, or Gods word. I’ll be praying for you Caroline! Thanks for your comment, and thanks for letting me know about my grammatical error. ;)
      Blessings!
      Caitlin

    2. Thank you Caitlin. I think I know what you mean by Moral absolutes because I have a slight knowledge of Christian apologetics, and no, I don't hold that belief. I am more inclined towards secular morality, it's what works best for me personally.
I appreciate you stating your beliefs and being honest about them. I however think you probably misunderstood my comment. Please correct me if I'm wrong here. I'm not trying to say that you should change your mind or view your religion differently because of other people disagreeing with you on issues. What I'm trying to say is that, and this is a personal opinion, it would be problematic to say the government should align with a certain religion's point of view on an issue, because the people who are represented by that government belong to different religions or no religion at all, and that would be unfair to them. Especially given the fact that the particular view you are proposing hasn't been proven to be true. Which is fine, but it is my opinion that in order to make it a general guideline, there should be a stronger foundation to it.
And about same sex marriage I think it does matter (investigating other countries, that is). Because I don't think there is any good substancial actual reason to think homosexuality is wrong. I know your religion says it is but, I wonder why. I have asked many people about this and haven't gotten a satisfactory answer just yet. I know God says so, but why does He think that? Does He explains why in any passages? What is He protecting us from by forbidding this (aside from hell)? I mean , hell is not good enough of an answer, it is the same as saying "because God says so". It doesn't add new information.
Of course I've heard the same answers as always, gays spread disease, it is not natural, I just don't like it, and so on. But you and I know this is not true or an actual reason to oppose it.There must be something else, but I can't find what it is.
Oh and please don't get me wrong, I didn't say grammatical error, I think I said typing error or typo. I'm not criticizing your writing (which is lovely btw), just thought I'd let you know.
      Hugs

    3. Hi Caroline!
Thanks for getting back to me! The government was founded on a Biblical perspective, and I believe that we've come too far only to let the Bible as our Foundation, slip out from underneath us.
As I said before, the Bible is the Foundation for Same sex marriage being wrong. To say otherwise, goes against the creator of the Universe... which yes, I understand you don't believe in.
Why does God think it's wrong? Many reasons... I'd encourage you to read this article: http://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/kevindeyoung/2015/07/01/40-questions-for-christians-now-waving-rainbow-flags/
for now though... God tells us to be fruitful and multiply many times in the Bible, as well as children being a blessing and a heritage from the Lord. How can you multiply and have children if you're with the same-sex partner? Also, God created them, from the beginning to be male and female. If He had wanted them to have a same-sex partner, then He would've made it so. I understand that you'll probably disagree with me on this issue, but I'm believing what the Bible says.
Thank you for being gentle with your words! I'd love to continue to discuss with you further if you have any questions. I have a "contact me" button on the side bar if you'd like. It's up to you. My blog is based on the Foundation of the Bible, I realize that many people will disagree with me on many issues, but these are my personal beliefs.
      Many blessings!
      Caitlin

  2. Thank you so much for posting this. I absolutely agree! I'm still baffled that they got that law passed without the peoples consent or the constitution. O_o

  3. Hi Brooke! Thanks for your comment! I realize that not everyone believes in the Bible or that Homosexuality is a sin. It's so sad that people believe it's right though... I think this is a really good way of putting it...http://adam4d.com/dont-hate/
people tend to think that just people we're Christians, we hate them if they're for same-sex marriage. However, that's not the truth...nor should it be. We're all sinners. We all have our faults. We need to love the sinner, but hate the sin.
Blessings on your week! And thanks for your comment!

  4. Thanks Caitlin. I was hoping my comment didn't come off as rude and judgemental. Thank you for really understanding what I say. I've grown up very modern and have many friends who are homosexual and amazing people. And some who feel the urges but believe it's a sin and don't act on those temptations. My personal belief is same sex attraction is a temptation. Just like pornography, adultery, eating disorders, or stealing. God wouldn't allow such a temptation if He didn't think His children could overcome it.
