Running into the Arms of God

God wants to embrace us, and run to us during our time of need, but we have to be willing to run to Him, and let him take control.
I found these lyrics below, and I wanted to let you read them.
Mercy Came Running~ By Phillips, Craig & Dean
Once their was a holy place
evidence of God's embrace
And I can almost see Mercy's face
pressed against the veil
Looking down with longing eyes
Mercy must have realized
that once his blood was sacrificed
Freedom would prevail
and as the sky grew dark
and the earth began to shake
with justice no longer in the way
(Chorus)
Mercy came running
like a prisoner set free
Past all my failures to the point of my need
When the sin that I carried
was all I could see
and when I could not reach Mercy
Mercy came running to me
Once their was a broken heart
way too human from the start
and all the years left it torn apart
hopeless and afraid
Walls I never meant to build
Left this prisioner unfulfilled
Freedom called but even still
It seemed so far away
I was bound by the chains
From the wages of my sin
Just when I felt like giving in
Sometimes I still feel so far
So far from where I really should be
He gently calls to my heart
Just to remind me
Mercy came running
like a prisoner set free
Past all my failures
to the point of my need
When the sin that I carried
was all I could see
And when I could not reach Mercy
Mercy came running to me.

Finding Joy in the midst of our Tragedies

Do you ever find in life that you are overwhelmed? Do you feel like you suffered the greatest loss of all history? That maybe you can't even live the next few hours because you can't even bear it. Find rest in the arms of God!!! He's been there! He knows how you feel...and he is there to comfort us. He's there to tell us, that no matter what happens, no matter what tragedies we go through...He will always be there, in the midst of those trials carrying us through it; And through it all, we can say, "It Is Well with My Soul!"
  • 1st Peter 1:6-7, "In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
  • I have found that Max Lucado's book, "In the Eye of the Storm" has helped me gain insight about how much God cares about us, and how much he loves us.
    • The Video Below is the song,"It Is Well" with a little history behind it, sorry if it's a little blurry. Enjoy!

Getting Our Priorities Straight

What do I mean by getting our priorities straight? I mean putting God first. A few nights ago we were doing family worship, and after reading Proverbs 23, I started thinking, "What kind of things in life can stop us from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?" There were so many answers, and other questions, however, it could be anything you desire...such as movies, computer games, friends, and even family. Whatever makes you happy during your times of need is an idol in God's eyes.
When I first graduated high school, I knew that I had much more free time. A few weeks after I graduated I realized that I hadn't really picked up the bible and read it...except in church. I then started thinking of all the things that I had done instead of reading the bible. What I found was shocking.
It is so easy to get sidetracked from the word of God. It's not easy to put studying the bible above everything. You have you be willing to give up certain things.
God is a jealous God!!! He wants you, and every part of you.
Next time you have been busy, and are maybe tired, or just don't really feel like studying the bible, Maybe you could pray...remember: you can find rest in Christ. Set your priorities straight, give God your highest priority.
Matthew 11:28, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
More Than Ever:
In Today's chaotic world,
with everything around us crumbling,
Morality held in contempt,
Our leaders false, corrupt, or bumbling,
More than ever, we need Christ,
to Lead us through this darkening place;
His absolute truth will light our way;
He'll lift us with His love and grace.
The Bible is our cornerstone;
in God's word, we take our stands;
Role models we will strive to be,
Examples of our Lord's commands.
Dear Lord Jesus, strengthen us
to complete the tasks you'd have us do;
We pray you'll lead us, guide us now
to know and love and follow you.

What is a Daughter of Destiny? ~Caitlin Baughman

Many people in today's culture have forgotten or merely don't know what a Proverbs 31 or Titus 2 woman is, or looks like.
I am blessed to have had and continue to have a wise mother, and grandmother whom have taught me how to be a Daughter of Destiny.
What I mean by a Daughter of Destiny is putting yourself, and your life to have a goal. My parents taught me growing up to put God above anyone or anything, my family next, then friends, and then me.
My Goal: To Glorify God in everything I do.
In Proverbs 31:30, it says, "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."...this is my goal.
My dad has a different vision for us girls in the "Baughman" household... To be seekers of the Word of God, Stay at Home Daughters, and Workers of the Home. (Titus 2:5) I thoroughly enjoy being in the home, where I feel protected, and loved. I am content with the life that God has given me. My prayer is that you will find contentment where God has placed you.

Philippians 4:11-13, "Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need."

I've attached a video below of Laura Story doing the song, "Blessings"...a great reminder of what God allows us to go through to give us strength.
