This past week, I've been learning a lot about trusting God. I have the opportunity to go to Russia with a homeschooling family that I know. Because they leave in March, I have to get my first passport... So, I sent it in, and expedited the shipping. I got worried, that the passport wouldn't get here in time to get the Visa for Russia. I'm still worried! In fact, I was so worried, that my mom had to constantly tell me, "if it's God's will that you go, then He will make it happen! Don't worry about it! You've done all that you can do, it's in God hands now." What a great reminder! I was so worried that "I" did something wrong and that
"I" didn't do it soon enough, when really, it doesn't matter... it's in God's hands.
I've been really trusting God in this matter. Have you ever had that happen in your life? You feel like you've done all that you can do, and now you just have to... WAIT. :)
Waiting... waiting... and waiting...
Can't say that I like it. Time moves like an Alaskan glacier. The clock ticks every five minutes, not every second. Someone pressed the pause button. Life in slo-mo. We don't like to wait. We are the giddyup generation. We weave through traffic, looking for the faster lane. We frown at the person who takes eleven items into the ten-item express checkout. We drum our fingers while the song downloads
or the microwave heats our coffee/tea.
Waiting on God to give, help, heal, waiting on God to come. We indwell the land betwixt prayer offered and prayer answered. The land of waiting.
Are you in God's waiting room? If so, here is what you need to know: while you wait, God works. (John 5:17) He's working for you as well. "Be still, and know that I am God" reads the sign on God's waiting room wall. You can be glad because God is good. You can be still because he is active. You can rest because he is busy. To wait, biblically speaking, is not to assume the worst, worry, fret, make demands, or take control. Nor is waiting inactivity. Waiting is a sustained effort to stay focused on God through prayer and belief. To wait is to "rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;... not fret."
(Psalm 37:7)
Waiting is easier read than done. It doesn't come easily for me. I've been in a hurry my whole life. Keep waiting! "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Fresh strength. Renewed vigor. Lets that don't grow weary. Delight yourself in God, and he will bring rest to your soul. :)

Thanks so much for sharing, Caitlin! Sometimes it is hard to wait when you need, or want something now. But that's when we need to just trust God, and lift up all our worries, needs, and wants up to Him who knows what we're going to ask for before we even do so!
ReplyDeleteI will be praying about your trip to Russia. What a great opportunity this is, just rest in HIM Caitlin, and I know He'll do what's best for you. Hang in there, dear sister!
May God bless you!
His Princess,
Bekah
Thanks Bekah! Yes, I have to constantly remind myself not to worry, and to wait on His timing. ;)
DeleteThanks for praying!
Blessings!
Caitlin
Hi Caitlin! I am so glad that you get an opportunity to go to Russia. I can relate so well to wanting to make things happen when it is up to God to orchastrate the situation. It is hard to let go and give the situation to God, and yet He is the Lord of all! He will do what is best for us. . . It is up to us to trust Him.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!
Natalie
P.S. I was wondering since we live in the same area if you are familiar with Rock Ledge Ranch. I volunteer there and have met a lot of homeschooling families through the program. :-)
Hi there Natalie!
DeleteThanks!
I've actually never heard of Rock Ledge Ranch. What is it? :)
Blessings!
Caitlin
Hi Caitlin,
ReplyDeleteRock Ledge Ranch is a living history site located at the entrance to Garden of the Gods Park. This site is a working farm that has livestock and a small garden. It also has historic houses on site to tour during the summer. We have an American Indian Area, a reproduction homestead cabin, a house from 1870, and a house built in 1907. At each site, volunteers 10 and up dress in period costume and give tours of their area. I work in the house from 1907. In this house we give tours in maid's attire and show what life was like at the turn of the century. We clean clothes by hand and hang them to wash, cook on a coal stove, and so much more!
Well, I'll go now. I have church in a few hours. :) I go to Mountain Springs Church. Where do you to church? God Bless,
Natalie
Hi Natalie! That sounds like it's familiar, but we normally do historic house homestead located in Denver. I might just have to try going down to the one in Colorado Springs. ;)
DeleteWe go to Reformation Church O.P.C... located here in Castle Rock. :)
Caitlin-
ReplyDeleteThis was a beautiful post, and I can't tell you how thankful I am that you wrote it. I SO needed to hear those words! Waiting is no doubt hard, but it always brings blessings. I am constantly having to remind myself that God's timing is perfect, His ways are the best. My mom is always telling me to just keep trusting God, and that He has everything under control. I'm the worrying type- so I need those reminders often :)
I will be praying for you and your trip- sounds like a wonderful opportunity! Keep trusting God- He's in control and has everything exactly the way He planned it to be! His ways are the best and His timing is perfect- never too early or late :)
Blessings to you!
Libby
Hi Libby! Thank you! I'm glad that you were blessed by it! Yes, I have to constantly remind myself that if this is God's will, He'll provide the way. :)
DeleteBlessings on your week!
Caitlin
Mmm. I know what its like to worry, but what a comfort that God knows what we need before we ask and He will provide according ot His great will. If He cares so much for a small bird, He cares so much more for us!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
