Being Submissive Part 2 of 2

Last week I talked about being Submissive as Wives/Daughters/Sisters.
This week I wanted to focus more on the practical applications that we can put into practice in our daily lives/routines.

How to Submit... practical applications:

• *When your dad/husband/grandpa/Uncle tells you to do something, do it with humbleness, quietness, joyfulness, meekness, and a submit spirit.
• *Do it without complaining, Grumbling (Philippians 2:12-14, "So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach...")
• *Address them with wisdom and kindness. (Proverbs 31:26, "She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.") 
• *Show them love & Respect when talking to/about them.
  
  I hope this helps you put into aspect some of the things that we don't put into context that we should. Whatever your case may be, I know the men will be blessed in our lives when we submit to them and show them love, honor, and respect.
  1st Peter 2:13-20, "Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are unreasonable. For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God."

Being Submissive Part 1

On Sunday, our Pastor preached a message about Mother's and Daughters and what 1st Peter 3 says, which I believe that I should post about.

Before I began, please read 1st Peter 3:1-6, "In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. Your adornment must not be merely external-braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands; just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear."

What I'm about to say is for Daughters as well as Wives. This passage of scripture doesn't just apply to the wives; It apply's to Daughters too.
We can learn so much about this passage, but I just want to talk about being submissive. Too many young women today aren't obedient or submissive to their husbands/fathers. Do you not have a husband?... submit to your Father. Do you not have a father?... submit to you Elder/Uncle/Grandpa.

Be obedient without fear! Be submissive without questions. So many times, I've questioned by dads motives about things, when really what I should have done, was just listen and submit myself to my dads authority.
We see a great example of Jesus submitting Himself to the will of His Father in Matthew 26:39, "And going a little farther He fell on His face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." and again in verse 42: "Again, for the second time, He went away and prayed, "My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done."
Christ is our perfect example of being submissive. So, with reverent behavior, let's put it into practice.
